Giving Back

Audrey Hepburn, one of the most stylish women ever, said that we have two hands - one to help ourselves and one to help others. She was stylish and wise. I believe we all need to give back and help those who really need it. My charitable efforts go toward empowering women by helping them look good, and protecting and caring for animals and the environment.

I volunteer at Suited for Change, a non-profit organization that provides interview-appropriate clothing to women in need who are seeking employment. I coach and dress clients, and also do workshops on employment-related image issues. Many of my Wear It Well clients have been wonderfully generous with donations of their excess clothing and accessories. Animals have no voice and we must speak for them, and care for them whether they are companions or wildlife. I give what I can to a number of animal and environmental causes, and every year I donate a Doggy Wardrobe to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria's annual dinner and silent auction. (Dogs want to look good, too.) In 2009, my cat that I adopted from AWLA was the AWLA Adoption Story of the Year. For more information on AWLA, click here: http://www.alexandriaanimals.org
